Real Zaragoza striker Ikechukwu Uche could be set for a surprise move to Villarreal. The Yellow Submarine are prepared to pay up to €5m for the 27-year-old, who they would immediately send out on loan to Panathinaikos in a three-way deal.
Villarreal have been on Uche’s trail for the past few seasons but a series of knee injuries, the first in only his second game for Zaragoza after a €5.5m move from Getafe in July, 2009, have seriously hampered his career at La Romareda.
