Gunners target Marvin Martin could be offered a more lucrative contract with Sochaux, in order to end Arsenal’s interest in the french midfielder, according to France Football.
Martin, 23, impressed last season when called upon to replace the departing Stephane Dalmat, and has now earned five caps for France.
It has been reported that Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is a keen admirer of the player, but it will now rest with the Martin himself who must decide whether he wants to extend his contract to 2015, or chase a move to the Premier League.

Mertesacker discusses move.
Arsenal centre-back Per Mertesacker has reflected on his move to the Premier League, following his winning debut for the Gunners in the weekend tie with Swansea.
Talking to Bild, the German defender stated: “We are in the motherland of football. It was something special… I have sensed that everything is five per cent more intensive, the tackles, the tempo.” The defender also backed tomorrows Champions League opponents Borussia Dortmund to progress in the competition: “For me Dortmund are the top favourites for the last 16 and are still a top squad.”
Gunners eye Real Madrid midfielder.
Arsenal are lining-up a January move for Real Madrid midfielder Esteban Granero, according to a report on talkSPORT.
Granero, 24, has struggled to establish himself in Jose Mourinho’s side, and could be deemed surplus to requirements should a significant deal come in. It is reported by Spanish radio station Cadena Ser, that Arsenal are the favourites to land the Spaniard, who signed from Getafe in a 4m Euros deal in 2009. Granero is seen as a player in a similar mould to ex-Gunners Samir Nasri and Cesc Fabregas.
