Arsenal ready to make January bid for Real Madrid ace

Reports on Cadena Ser suggest Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is ready to make Real Madrid midfielder Esteban Granero one of his priorities in the January transfer market. The Gunners boss is looking to strengthen his midfield after the loss of Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri and sees the former Getafe player as the ideal complement to recent signing from Everton, Mikel Arteta.

Wenger was reported to be interested in Granero in July and would like the 24-year-old to come to London on a permanent transfer, although Madrid would look to insert a buyback clause into any deal, similar to the one they exercised when bringing the player back from Getafe for €4m in July, 2009.
