Bantams snap up ex-Premier League striker

League Two side Bradford City have bolstered their forward options with the capture of former Hull and Derby County striker Craig Fagan.

The 28-year-old was released from the KC Stadium in July and has penned a one-year deal at Valley Parade.

Manager Phil Parkinson worked with Fagan at both Colchester and Hull and told the club’s official website he was delighted with the capture: “I’m really pleased that we have signed Craig. I think he will be a terrific acquisition for us.

“No deal in football is ever straightforward, especially when you are fighting with other clubs for a player of Craig’s ability.

“We are just really pleased that he has signed and I am really looking forward to working with him again.”

Fagan was unfortunate not to make more appearances in the top flight after suffering a broken leg against Newcastle in September 2008.

Subject to receiving the necessary clearance the striker could feature in Bradford’s trip to high-flying Crawley Town on Saturday.
