Dalglish expects strong performance after Tottenham debacle

Kenny Dalglish is demanding a response from his players tonight in their Carling Cup match at Brighton after they were hammered 4-0 by Tottenham at the weekend.

Speaking ahead of the Reds’ third round clash with Brighton tonight, the Liverpool boss was clearly trying not to dwell on the weekend’s result.

He said: “It didn’t please anybody and the players were really disappointed. We don’t think we played well, even with 11 men we didn’t play well. We didn’t start so well on Sunday, which contributed to our downfall, along with Spurs’ play.”
