Hammers let Nouble leave on loan and consider trialist captures

West Ham United have allowed Franck Nouble to join League Two side Gillingham on a one-month loan deal.

The striker has featured just once this season after coming off the bench in the Hammers’ shock Carling Cup defeat to Aldershot.

The 19-year-old could go straight into the squad for the Gills’ clash with Hereford on Saturday.

Meanwhile manager Sam Allardyce is currently running the rule over two trialists at Upton Park.

Former Blackpool full back David Carney has been training with the club recently as they look to find cover for George McCartney.

Allardyce can call on fellow full back Herita Ilunga but question marks have been raised over the Congelese international’s future after he was left out of the squad’s official team photo.

Brazilian defensive midfielder Juca is currently the other player on trial with the Hammers after most recently turning out for Spanish side Deportivo La Coruna.

The side aren’t short of options in midfield berths with the captures of Papa Bouba Diop, Henri Lansbury and David Bentley on deadline day but Allardyce is still keen to provide further competition for places.
