King ready to prove himself for new Tottenham contract

Ledley King has vowed to prove his worth to Spurs and earn a new contract. His current deal expires at the end of the season and he has been told he must play in at least 20 games to earn a new deal.

Speaking to the Mirror the Tottenham captain said: “This is my biggest season at Spurs yet. It is the first time I have been in a situation like this so it is a big season. I have to prove I am still worth it, I can’t see myself pulling on a shirt for anybody else at this stage of my career.”

King’s importance is underlined by the stats; without him they have a win rate of 32% from 98 games but with him they have won 75% of the 56 games he has played in.
