Lampard back in business with Chelsea Champions League goal

Frank Lampard was being faced by a number of questions lately regarding doubts over his Chelsea career. And according to The Telegraph, those remarks have only made the 33-year-old more determined to prove his ability on the pitch.

Lampard, who started in Chelsea’s midweek Champions League clash against Valencia, marked his return with a well taken goal. The Blues midfielder left goalkeeper Diego Alves motionless as he slotted home. The Brazilian goalkeeper looked unbeatable on the night making an incredible tally of eight saves to keep Chelsea out. It eventually paid off as Valencia managed to level the scores with a late penalty courtesy of a hand ball from Salomon Kalou.

Speaking on the result, Lampard said: “It was a pity. The performance was solid. The second half was strong and we had good opportunities for 2-0 but were unlucky.”
