Levante – Espanyol: Visitors looking for first away win in ten

La Liga Week 6
Sunday September 25, 2011 (15.00 UK)

Ciutat de Valencia, Valencia

Espanyol travel to Valencia to face in-form Levante with the hosts coming into the match on the back of wins against Real Madrid and Rayo Vallecano.

Levante could name an unchanged team from the one that recorded a 2-1 win at Rayo in midweek with Arouna Kone likely to lead the line once again.

The hosts’ Uruguayan goalkeeper Gustavo Munua has told his teammates not to focus on the famous win over Real Madrid, pointing out they haven’t made anything of their season yet. He said: “It was a very nice night, but we only got the three points. We have not achieved anything yet, but I hope we continue on this path and so we can reach our target.”

Espanyol also come into the match with near-enough a full squad as David Lopez returns from his suspension after seeing red against Real Zaragoza, meanwhile Walter Pandiani will be hoping for a start following his scoring-cameo in midweek.

Levante (4-2-3-1): Munua; Lopez, Ballesteros, Nano, Juanfran; Xavi Torres, Iborra; Valdo, Barkero, Juanlu; Kone
League form: Last five home W-D-D-L-W

Espanyol (4-2-3-1): Christian Alvarez; Galan, Amat, Moreno, Didac; Javi Marquez, Romaric; Weiss, Sergio Garcia, Thievy; Pandiani
League form: Last five away L-L-L-L-L

Did you know… Levante have only beaten Espanyol once since 2004 and that victory came the last time the two sides met back in March.
