Liverpool suffer Agger blow as Coates prepares to make debut

Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish has been dealt a major blow with the news that defender Daniel Agger has suffered a broken rib.

The Danish international suffered the injury in the first half of Sunday’s 4-0 defeat at Tottenham and had to be substituted before half-time.

The 26-year-old is believed to out for up to four weeks according to The Times. This would mean he would miss this Saturday’s home game against Wolves, the Merseyside derby against Everton and a home match against Manchester United.

Dalglish will be forced into yet another reshuffle at the back – new signing Sebastian Coates, who replaced Agger at the weekend, looks set to make his full debut against Brighton tonight.
