Man Utd set to issue record bonuses for staff

Reports emanating from Goal.com have revealed that Manchester United’s owners – the Glazer family – are set to issue a record £5m in bonuses to around 500 members of the club’s staff.

Since the Glazer family assumed a controlling share in United during 2003, staff at Old Trafford have received performance – based annual salaries, which are believed to be about to undergo a record 7.9% average increase in the wake of the club’s sensational start to the 2011-2012 season, not just in terms of on-field performance but also with regards to financial and commercial dealings.

Ultimately the salaries of some United employees will increase to a more significant extent than others, with Chief Executive David Gill due to enjoy a £160,000 increase in his on top of the £2m he currently receives annually.
