Mata targets Chelsea Champions League success

Chelsea midfielder Juan Mata knows of Roman Abramovich’s dream to win the UEFA Champions League and hopes to deliver it, Sky Sports reports.

Chelsea are still yet to win the Champions League after last coming close in 2008 when they lost to Manchester United in the final on penalties.

Mata said: “Chelsea is a team that gives their all when it comes to any title and any competition. The Champions League is obviously very important and it’s something that’s very attractive to us. But we’re also very interested in the Premier League and any other competitions that we take part in.

“Real Madrid and Barcelona have been doing well and growing very, very much in the last few years. They have been doing very well in the Champions League as well. But I think there are a number of other teams right now that could create some problems for them.”
