Modric ‘fine’ with Tottenham stay says Redknapp

Harry Redknapp has insisted that Luka Modric is now fine at Spurs after scoring his first goal of the season in his sides 4-0 victory over Liverpool yesterday. The Croatian was the subject of several unsuccessful bids from Chelsea this summer but was made to stay by Chairman Daniel Levy, who rejected reported bids in the region of £40m to keep the player.

He was left out of the tie against Manchester United on the opening day of the season, with Redknapp claiming the player did not want to play, however, after the 4-0 win Harry told Sky Sports: “Luka is fine now; he’s just getting on with it. I think the chairman will sit down with him now and discuss his contract.”
