Mourinho to change things for Champions League game

Real Madrid Coach Jose Mourinho is set to ring the changes for Wednesday’s Champions League encounter with Dinamo Zagreb.

The Portuguese admitted he was unhappy with his team’s performance at the weekend, even as the 4-2 win over Getafe maintained the club’s position at the top of the table, and saw them take a two-point lead over Barcelona for the first time in three years.

In opening the team’s Champions League campaign away to the Croatian champions, Mourinho is speculated to be making some adjustments to the starting line-up, particularly after criticising Real’s defensive play against their Madrid rivals at the weekend.

AS believe Ricardo Carvalho could be dropped for his performance against Getafe, in order to rectify the team’s defensive uncertainty that has seen them concede seven goals in four games. Sami Khedira is set to return after missing the weekend game with a back injury and is expected to replace Fabio Coentrao in the middle of the park.

Mourinho will travel with the squad, but is misses the game through the suspension handed to him by UEFA in light of his dismissal during, and subsequent comments after, the Champions League semi-final first leg defeat to Barcelona last season.
