Oxlade-Chamberlain eyes more Arsenal first-team action

Arsenal winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is optimistic his performance against Shrewsbury Town on Tuesday will earn him more game-time, Sky Sports reports.

The winger signed from Southampton scored his first Arsenal goal in the Carling Cup in his second appearance for the club after his substitute showing in the 8-2 drubbing against Manchester United.

‘I haven’t been on the bench as much as I would have liked recently and that is due to some quality signings. I forgot what it felt like to be out there,’ Oxlade-Chamberlain said, ‘Before the game I walked out on the pitch and realised what a big stage it is – straight away I was excited and it was brilliant to be involved. I gave it my all and I hope I did well.’
