Racing Santander – Levante: Hector Cuper’s men looking to put opening day defeat behind them

El Sardinero, Santander

After their incredibly entertaining opening game in Valencia that unfortunately ended in defeat, Racing Santander will be looking to steady themselves as they take on Levante, who never tend to travel well.

Following a less than convincing defensive performance in his side’s first game, Racing Coach Hector Cuper could hand a debut to Bernardo Espinosa, the young Colombian defender on loan from Sevilla. After his performance against Valencia, Lautaro Acosta is likely to keep the on loan Christian Stuani and the not yet match fit Ariel Nahuelpan out of the side.

Levante were lucky to come away from their opening game away to Getafe with a point after spending long spells of the game without the ball. The Spanish midfielder Juanlu’s equaliser in the closing stages of that game could see Coach Juan Ignacio start him ahead of Ruben Suarez. Valdo should retain his starting place in the side after he returned to training earlier this week following international duty with Cape Verde.
