Racing Santander – Rayo Vallecano: Racing looking to claim first victory against La Liga new boys

La Liga Week 7
Saturday October 1 2011 (17.00 UK)

El Sardinero, Santander

Racing Santander will be looking to climb out of the relegation zone by picking up their first victory of the season this weekend against Rayo Vallecano.

The Verdiblancos have not scored in their last four La Liga matches and their three points have all come from 0-0 draws.

Despite getting off to a respectable start to the season, Rayo Vallecano have lost their last two league matches, most recently suffering a 6-2 drubbing at the hands of Real Madrid, but striker Francisco Medina Luna insists this weekend’s fixture is one his side have to win: “We have to go to Santander for the three points and then see how things go from there. In this kind of game we are all fighting for the same goal.”

Racing Santander (4-2-3-1): Ramirez; Francis, Bernardo, Gonzalez, C Fernandez; Diop, Tziolis; Samperio, Acosta, Munitis; Ariel
League form: Last five home W-W-L-D-D

Rayo Vallecano (4-2-3-1): Dani Gimenez; Tito, Arribas, Montel, Casado; Javi Fuego, Movilla; Lass, Michu, Piti; Tamudo
