Rayo Vallecano’s winless streak against Zaragoza in La Liga continued on Sunday as they were held to a 0-0 draw at home.

The newly-promoted side were on top for much of the game and Piti was the first player to go close, forcing Roberto into a decent save from his stinging shot.

Minutes later, Jose Movilla almost doubled his tally for the season, but saw his header go agonizingly close as it bounced off the top of the cross bar.

20 minutes in, Angel Lafita had a decent attempt saved by Dani Gimenez as the winger tried his luck from just outside the area, however the Rayo custodian was equal to it.

The hosts thought they were set to take the lead in the 70th minute as they were awarded a penalty thanks to a handball from Paulo Da Silva, however, Javi Fuego’s kick was expertly saved by Roberto and Zaragoza held on for the draw.

Rayo (4-2-3-1): Gimenez; Tito, Arribas, Montel, Casado; Javi Fuego, Movilla (Delibasic 81); Piti, Trashorras (Raul Tamudo 64), Pedro (Lass 61); Michu
