El Molinon, Gijon
Despite Sporting Gijon starting off this season in less than convincing style (losing their opening two matches), Valencia will be in for a tough match as they visit El Molinon. Before losing to Real Sociedad at home in the opening game of the season, Sporting had not lost at El Molinon since January 15, a 2-1 loss to Malaga, so they will be ready for a battle.
The hosts have question marks over the fitness of Alberto Lora and Ivan Hernandez, however both are expected to be involved from the start whilst Manuel Preciado will likely change personnel in the midfield after some less than convincing performances, therefore Alberto Rivera could replace Sebastian Eguren.
Meanwhile, Valencia look set to be without Mehmet Topal after the Turk was injured during the Champions League match against Genk, whilst Bruno, who has been struggling with a hamstring injury, could find himself back in the squad for the trip to Gijon.
