Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has confirmed that goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes is seeking a move away from the club in January. The Brazilian, who has lost his place to new signing Brad Friedel, was nowhere to be seen as Spurs took on Wolves on Saturday afternoon.
Speaking to the Mirror Redknapp revealed: “I’ve not bombed Gomes out and made him number three, that’s for sure. He’s trained hard but, in all honesty, he’s looking to move on in January. If the opportunity comes for him to play, I’m sure he will take it.”
Gomes joined Spurs from PSV in 2008 but looks to have lost his place after an error prone end to last season.

Ade unclear over future.
New Spurs striker Emanuel Adebayor has said it is too early to start thinking about a permanent move to White Hart Lane but has admitted ‘the love’ with Manchester City is over.
The Togolese striker has signed on a season long loan from City scored on his debut against Wolves on Saturday. Speaking to Sky Sports he said: “I have nothing to prove to Manchester City. Everyone in this country knows what I am capable of… the love between the club (Man City) and myself is broke. I am here (Tottenham) for a season, and at the end of the season I will still have two more years left of my contract.
“It’s too far away to start thinking about the future. Let’s maybe have a chance to talk in April or May and I will decide on my career. At the end of the season I will see what I can do. But what is important to me now is to help this team, which is Tottenham.”
Adebayor spent last season on loan at Real Madrid after failing to impress City manager Roberto Mancini.
Harry praise for King.
Spurs manager Harry Redknapp has singled out Ledley King’s return to the Spurs side in the 2-0 win over Wolves. King has battled against a long standing knee complaint for several seasons that has severely hampered his career.
Speaking to Sky Sports Redknapp said: “Ledley is an amazing player. He only ever trains for a few minutes the day before a game. He is different class, he gives an air of confidence, he knows what he is doing.”
