Villarreal – Mallorca: Islanders looking for first away win in seven as Yellow Submarine seek first three points of the season

La Liga Week 5
Tuesday September 20, 2011 (21.00 UK)

El Madrigal, Villarreal

Neither side comes into this match in the greatest of form with Real Mallorca having lost their last two matches, while Villarreal are yet to record a La Liga win so far this term.

The hosts could be set to welcome back Angel Lopez to the team following his long injury lay-off after injuring his knee last season, whilst Diego Lopez will likely return to the starting line-up in goal after serving a suspension following his red card in the 2-2 draw with Sevilla.

Mallorca are in a state of turmoil behind the scenes due to the failing relationship of Coach Michael Laudrup and President Lorenzo Serra Ferrer, but they haven’t fared much better on the pitch in recent weeks either.

Chori Castro was dropped for the weekend defeat to Malaga. However, he could find himself back in the squad for the trip to Spain’s East coast.

Laudrup’s biggest headache is over whom to play in the attacking third, with many players available to him but none with any real form this term.

Villarreal (4-3-1-2): Diego Lopez; Angel, Zapata, Musacchio, Catal; De Guzman, Marchena, Bruno; Valero; Rossi, Nilmar
League form: Last five home L-W-W-L-D

Mallorca (4-2-3-1):Aouate; Zuiverloon, Chico, Ramis, Caceres; Tissone, Tejera; Pereira, Alfaro, Nsue; Hemed
League form: Last five home L-L-D-L-L

Did you know…Mallorca have won only two of the last 16 meetings between these two clubs. Villarreal have racked up nine victories in the same period.
