Agent confirms Chelsea interest in Giovinco

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is a big admirer of Parma’s Sebastian Giovinco, according to the player’s agent.

Speaking to Sportal.it, Andrea D’Amico revealed that Giovinco’s future could lie in London and specifically at Stamford Bridge.

“It’s no mystery that Roman Abramovich likes Giovinco; the Chelsea owner was struck by Giovinco’s performances when he played against them for Juventus,” said D’Amico.

The agent went on to say: “Also, Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas loves the player’s technical qualities. Chelsea would be a nice club, but at the moment there is nothing concrete.”

The player has said that he would consider a return to Juventus if the Turin club chose him to replace Alessandro Del Piero, who leaves at the end of the current season.

Giovinco has been a key figure for Parma so far this campaign, scoring 6 times in 7 appearances including a consolation strike in last night’s 4-1 defeat to champions AC Milan.
