Arsenal plan move for Peruvian wonderkid

Arsenal face stiff competition from fellow Premier League rivals Liverpool for the signing of Peruvian wonderkid Andy Polo, The Daily Mail reports.

The 17 year old is currently in the first team at Peruvian side Universitario de Deportes and has been called up by the Peruvian national side already. Polo plays as a striker and has the nickname of ‘The Jewel’ in his native country.

Representatives of Arsenal have held talks with the teenage sensation, but Liverpool are said to be in the driver’s seat to bring the player to England. Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has often been criticised for buying young players, but he is keen on the Peruvian and is prepared to increase his offer to ward off competition from Liverpool.
