Executive Richard Law has been asked to open contract negotiations with several Arsenal stars including van Persie, Theo Walcott and Thomas Vermaelen before the January transfer window opens.
Van Persie has insisted, however, that he does not want to enter contract talks until the end of the season.
The 28-year-old was recently made captain of Arsenal following Cesc Fabregas’s departure to Barcelona, he has scored three goals in seven Premier League appearances this season.
