Balotelli: No problems with Ferdinand

Mario Balotelli has spoken out over the row he was embroiled in after last season’s FA Cup semi-final win over Manchester United and vows that the spat with Rio Ferdinand is over for good.

The Guardian reports that Balotelli holds no personal grudge against the United defender, who took offence to the Italian’s celebration after City’s famous victory at Wembley. The City striker has had his fair share of trouble in the past, but he has mellowed slightly this season and is ready to show United the respect they deserve whilst beating them at the same time.

Balotelli said: ‘For me, what happened on the pitch stayed on the pitch and now we are friends like before. Or we respect each other anyway. I’m going to give him (Ferdinand) the handshake before the game like I give to everyone. All that matters is the result. I think it will be a lot of fun.’
