Burnley manager Eddie Howe has confirmed that Mansfield defender Tom Naylor will spend time with the club this week.
The 20-year-old is highly coveted by a number of teams with both Derby County and Fulham having the youngster on trial this summer.
League One side Bournemouth were the only team to lodge a bid for Naylor but it was understood to have been well below the Stags’ valuation of the player.
Manager Paul Cox is resigned to losing Naylor but told the club’s official website his opportunities to train elsewhere are quickly running out: “This
“We want to keep Tom here if no club is to meet our valuation.”
Mansfield find themselves in a great position to play hard-ball with any potential suitors for Naylor with the club being backed by multi-millionaire and lifelong Stags fan John Radford.
