Carroll set for Liverpool start against Stoke

Liverpool could hand a start to striker Andy Carroll in their fourth round Carling Cup tie with Stoke City, Yahoo Sport reports.

Carroll has been on the bench for the last two Premier League games and the £35m man is expected to start at the Britannia Stadium. Welsh forward Craig Bellamy could start alongside the big centre forward and other big names such as Lucas Leiva, Maxi Rodriguez and Jay Spearing should appear at the Britannia Stadium.

Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish said: ‘We don’t have any qualms playing any of our players in any games. It’s great that we have that comfort, belief and confidence in them to be able to do that. You have to be fair to everyone and Craig understands that.’

‘The teams we have been putting out in the Carling Cup have been strong and I’m sure the team at Stoke will be the same’, Dalglish added.
