Cech expects tough competition in title race

Chelsea’s goalkeeper Petr Cech has told Sky Sports that the title race will be contested by more than just Chelsea and the two Manchester outfits. The Czech international believes it would be foolish to rule out other contenders who may pose a threat to current top three in the Barclays Premier League.

“Everybody’s talking about the two Manchester teams and us. But I think you can’t forget Liverpool, you can’t forget the others because this is a tough league and there’s a long way to go. So let’s see another set of 10-15 games. After Christmas, we can speak about this again.”

The Blues have only recorded one loss in their opening 8 games, a 3-1 loss at the hands of Manchester United at Old Trafford, but Cech insists the players are not getting carried away. “We are focused on our jobs, our training, our work. So far, it’s been very good for us.”
