Chelsea boss Villas-Boas running out of patience with goal-shy Anelka

Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas was reportedly highly critical of Nicolas Anelka after last weekend’s 1-0 defeat to Queens Park Rangers and appears to be running out of patience with the striker, according to The Daily Mail.

Anelka wasted a glorious headed chance to grab a point for nine-man Chelsea late on at Loftus Road, and followed that up by missing a penalty in the midweek League Cup win at Everton.

The French forward has only scored one goal in his last 25 games for the club, and with the likes of Didier Drogba, Fernando Torres and Daniel Sturridge as competition, he seems to be fighting a losing battle at Stamford Bridge.

His contract expires next summer, and with Chelsea yet to begin negotiations on a new deal, his days at the club could be numbered.
