Chelsea keeping a close eye on Lille’s Hazard

The academy director of French side Lille says that Chelsea are closely monitoring the progress of in-demand playmaker Eden Hazard, ESPN reports.

Hazard has been linked with the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid, Inter and Arsenal in recent months, but now Jean-Michel Vandamme has revealed that the Blues are paying the most attention to the youngster.

“Eden is certainly willing to stay at Lille until at least next summer,” said Vandamme. “The buyer will have to come up with a lot of money – let’s say he is not currently to go for less than £40 million.

“Chelsea has been following him the closest,” he continued. “The Spaniards have not manifested themselves yet, but I think they are playing it smart and will call when they know they have to – I’m talking about Real Madrid, but also about Barcelona.”
