Chelsea are set to enter a bidding war with rivals Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City as Lille plan to cash-in on Edin Hazard, the Daily
The talented Belgian winger has been subject to much speculation after blossoming in Lille’s Ligue 1 success last season and the French club’s academy director Jean-Michel Vandamme has assured he will not be going cheaply.
“The buyer will have to come up with a lot of money – let us say he is not currently to go for less than £40million.”
Vandamme also claimed that among his potential suitors, Chelsea are currently the club following Hazard the closest, this despite Manchester City sending their football development executive, Patrick Viera, to examine Hazard’s performance against Inter Milan on Tuesday.
However, Lille have been quick to warn the likes of Chelsea and Man City to take Hazard off their Christmas lists as the 20-year-old will not be moving until next summer.
