Jordi Alba unphased by chance with Spain

Jordi Alba has reflected on his first time training with the Spain squad, and praised his teammates for their welcoming attitude.

Speaking before Tuesday’s match against Scotland, converted left-back Alba said he would be ‘happy’ should he make his debut in Alicante, whilst reaffirming that he is unfazed by the call-up to the national team.

“Everybody since I have arrived has behaved great with me. They are very humble people that treat me like one of them, so I’m grateful for their behaviour. I hope to learn a lot from all of them, to continue to learn and adapt as quickly as possible.”

The Catalan also confirmed he will not be swapping his shirt with anyone after the game, should he play as Vicente Del Bosque confirmed he might.

“I have shirts at home from big games and this is going to be no less. If I debut then that [shirt] will stay with me and hang as well.”
