Kalou offered new contract at Chelsea

ESPN reports that Chelsea forward Salomon Kalou has been offered a new deal at Stamford Bridge.

Kalou’s current contract runs out next summer, but Blues boss Andre Villas-Boas has revealed that the club are in talks to prolong his stay.

“He [Kalou] was offered a contract and we’ll continue talks until we reach an agreement or not,” said the Chelsea manager.

The 27-year-old is one of a number of high-profile names at Chelsea who is approaching the end of his contract, and has been linked with Arsenal and Liverpool recently.

Nicolas Anelka, Didier Drogba and Jose Bosingwa are all also out of contract at the end of the current campaign, and, along with Kalou, could potentially leave on free transfers in summer 2012.
