Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool for a time broke away as the ‘big four’ and consistently occupied the top four positions in the league in recent years.
However, City, backed by the vast spending power of owner Sheikh Mansour, came joint second in the league last season, while Tottenham have also managed to crack the big four dominance, and Kompany thinks this is healthy for the competition.
