Frank Lampard believes his hat-trick against Bolton over the weekend has answered critics who have suggested his England and Chelsea days are numbered, reports Sky
Appearances on the bench this season have led to talk that the midfielder has lost his touch but Lampard is refusing to pay attention to the rumours.
“There’s only one way to answer the critics. Today was the day when it all came together for me and I’m pleased”, he said. “It was one of the most special hat-tricks I have had after the time I’ve had. I’m hungry to play. I’m not a happy boy when I’m not playing. I want to earn my money. But I also have respect for the manager and players in the squad. I’ll always work hard to play for this club.”
England boss Fabio Capello has named the 33-year old in his squad for Friday’s Euro 2012 qualifier with Montenegro and Lampard is widely expected to play a starring role.
