Manchester United goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard could miss his side’s trip to Anfield to face Liverpool next week after suffering an ankle injury Sky
The 27-year-old shot stopper picked up the injury in United’s 2-0 victory over Norwich last week but still managed to play the full 90 minutes.
The former Aalesund keeper could not shake off the injury in time to feature for Denmark in their Euro qualifiers against Cyprus and Portugal and has been forced to withdraw from the squad.
Lindegaard will return to United’s training ground to receive intensive treatment as he looks to be fit on time for the trip to Liverpool on October 15.
He said: “I got a stamp on my ankle at the start of the match on Saturday and should have come off. I chose to carry on and paid the price. And although I have to sit on my couch with my leg up now, it was incredibly important for me to play. The medical staff at United believe that the earliest I could train again is next week.”
