Rodallega, 26, has been told to focus on helping Wigan to climb up the Premier League table before talks can continue.
With his deal set to expire next summer, Liverpool, along with Arsenal, Aston Villa and Everton, are reportedly keeping tabs on the Colombian.
He joined Wigan from Mexican side Necaxa in January 2008, and has made 96 appearances in the league, scoring 22 goals in the process.
Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish may look to Rodallega to play alongside fellow South American Luis Suarez, with £35 million man Andy Carroll currently out of form at Anfield.
