Liverpool’ keeper hails Gerrard return

Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina has hailed the return of Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard to the side.

Gerrard who marked his first start since March with a goal against Manchester United, has been described by Reina as a “born winner”. Reina admitted the return of the 31 year old has given the squad a major boost, telling the Liverpool Daily Post: “Stevie is the badge of this football club, the soul of this team and we are more than happy to have him back in the team,” Reina said. “Hopefully he will be back for a long, long time. Just by the fact that he is on the pitch it is an inspiration for us. He always leads by example and anything he does he does with passion and a lot of commitment. He is a born winner.”
