Liverpool striker Nathan Eccleston pens one-month loan deal at Rochdale

Dale were looking short on striking options following the return of David Ball to Peterborough and Eccleston will provide a perfect partner for Ashley Grimes who has netted eight times following his summer move.

Manager Steve Eyre was delighted with the capture when he spoke to the club’s official website: “I’m very grateful to Liverpool for their co-operation. He’s a very good man, he’s a got a lot of fire in his belly, a lot of talent and he loves to score a goal.”

The Greater Manchester side currently sit 18th but with a trip to bottom side Exeter City on Saturday they will be optimistic of moving up the table.

Eccleston is expected to go straight into first-team contention for the game and will be keen to open his account for his new club.
