Liverpool striker Luis Suarez has denied the allegations of racism levelled at him by Manchester United defender Patrice Evra. The Frenchman claims Suarez racially abused him during the match, and his claims have led the FA to open an investigation into the matter. Evra mad the claims after the final whistle first discussing them with referee Andre Marriner and again in an interview with French TV station Canal+.
However, Suarez maintains his innocence. “I’m upset by the accusations of racism,” he said. “I can only say that I have always respected and respect everybody. We are all the same. I go to the field with the maximum illusion of a little child who enjoys what he does, not to create conflicts.”
