The ex-Arsenal winger said: “You look at Barcelona and for the recent Champions League final, they had eight homegrown players,” he added.
“What a fantastic model they have created in terms of bringing local kids through into their first team, but of the highest calibre.” Marwood continued.
“Now that is something we are trying to aspire to. But you have to start with having the right facilities but also the right plan in terms of when young players come in at the age of eight and how you are going to develop them.”
