The 19-year-old came through the club’s academy and has made himself a first team regular this campaign, an elevation that has got him noticed by some Premier League contingent.
City sent their scout, Kevin Hunt, to cast his eye over Dunk in his last match, but Brighton manager Gus Poyet has since warned they will need to be offered big money to part with their prize asset.
“They will have to pay. Everybody has got a price and Dunky has got a price, because he is in the team and because of the way he is playing.” He added: “Sometimes you can’t keep players forever.”
