Man Utd duo set for return to face Liverpool

Tom Cleverley and Nemanja Vidic are set to take part in Premier League duty for the first time in five and nine weeks respectively, in Manchester United’s game against Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday, the Daily Mail has reported.

A foot injury has kept Cleverley on the sidelines since September 10th, whilst a persisting hamstring problem has prevented Vidic from featuring for United since the opening weekend of the Premier League season but both are understood to be in genuine contention of returning to Sir Alex Ferguson’s side this weekend.

Prior to the international break, from which participating players will now be returning to their clubs, Ferguson voiced his desire to have Cleverley and Vidic back available for selection following its conclusion, which now looks likely to be the case for the Scots manger.
