Sneijder was close to joining the Premier League champions in the summer but Sir Alex Ferguson lost interest because of the amount of money needed to seal the deal.
The Italian side are now ready to cash in on the former Ajax star as they look to invest in some younger players.
Ferguson may feel he needs some experience and depth in his side following their 6-1 mauling at the hands of archrivals Manchester City, but he will face some competition in signing the Netherlands international as Roberto Mancini’s side and Chelsea are also rumoured to be interested in the midfielder.
