Man Utd tracking Huddersfield striker

Reports in the Daily Mail suggest that Manchester United are studying the progress of Huddersfield striker Jordan Rhodes.

The 21 year old has scored nine goals in his last four games for the Terriers and new United scout Paul Scholes was in attendance at the Galpharm Stadium to see Rhodes score past Scunthorpe United on Wednesday.

Rhodes will cost the Premier League champions £5m and United are keen to bring the youngster to Old Trafford to further his development and turn him into a world class striker. The striker was Huddersfield’s top scorer in his first full season and is regarded as one of the hot prospects in the Football League.

United boss Sir Alex Ferguson will be impressed with the youngster, who recently committed his future on an international level to Scotland. Rhodes is the son of current Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeping coach Andy Rhodes and is from Oldham, the same area as Scholes.
