Manchester City have finalised a deal to bring 15-year-old Norwegian Bersant Celina to the Etihad stadium. City managed to fend off interest from Blackburn Rovers and Liverpool to sign Celina.
It comes in a week where Chelsea signed 14-year-old Oluwaseyi Ojo from MK Dons for a staggering £2million, and both transfers represent a change in strategy for the clubs with the biggest wealth. Instead of being involved in bidding wars with other financial heavy hitters, signing young players almost unrivalled may become the norm.
Celina himself spoke to Norwegian press DrammensTidende
Celina will join up with Manchester City once he has finished his schooling in Norway.
