Roberto Mancini has given Yaya Toure a massive compliment by comparing him to Dutch master Ruud Gullit, the Observer
The main comparison he believes is represented in Toure’s versatility, as since his time at Barcelona he has played as a holding midfielder, centre-back and now as a second striker at the Eastlands and Mancini says that is the sign of a great player.
The Italian said: “When you are a top player you can play in every position and for me Yaya is one of the best players in Europe.”
However, Toure is humbled by such comparisons: “Gullit, Rijkaard and Van Basten were unbelievable for Milan. I’m very happy to hear people talking about me in that way but the most important thing for me is to try to improve every week.”
