Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini insists he and his players are giving priority to Tuesday’s Champions League fixture against Villarreal, rather than next weekend’s Manchester derby.
City will go into the game against their local rivals on Sunday two points clear at the top of the Premier League table, but first they have a crucial European meeting with the Spaniards.
With just one point from their first two games in the Champions League, Mancini knows that a win for City is essential.
“We have four days to recover and prepare for the derby. We don’t really need to prepare for the game with United because we know they are a top team, and I don’t think we need to prepare any differently.”
