New Man Utd contract talks for Welbeck and Hernandez

Manchester United stars Javier Hernandez and Danny Welbeck are thought to be on the verge of receiving new lucrative contract offers from the club’s hierarchy, the Manchester Evening News understands.

Although at present Welbeck is already contracted at Old Trafford until 2013, Sir Alex Ferguson is believed to be keen on presenting the England International with a contract which would elevate the player’s weekly wage to around the £100,000 mark and extend his allegiance to United until 2016.

Similarly, with Real Madrid’s Jose Mourinho reportedly an admirer of Hernandez, one way in which United can offset the threat of losing the Mexican striker to a potential suitor, Ferguson recognises is by offering the player a six-figure weekly wage deal over the next five or more years, something that is reportedly on the horizon.
