New Man Utd deal interests Giggs

At present Ryan Giggs is contracted to Manchester United until the end of this season but already the Welshman has his sights set on ensuring that there is a deal in place for him to remain a player at Old Trafford for the club’s 2012-2013 campaign, BBC Sport has revealed.

Whilst he has been somewhat on the periphery of United’s first team this season, extending his 21-year affiliation with the club and Sir Alex Ferguson ranks as a top priority for Giggs. “Nothing interests me but playing with this team. After Christmas I will go to Sir Alex Ferguson’s office and talk about my contract. I have a great relationship with him. All it needs is that I sit down at a table with him to renew it,” said Giggs.

In addition to the host of team and individual accolades he has won over the course of his career, Giggs added another one of the latter variety yesterday, as he was presented with the Golden Foot for 2011, which is an award for players over the age of 29 and still prominent in the game. There is no doubt this’ something Giggs most certainly is.
